ARTstor for Faculty

What is ARTstor?

The ARTstor Digital Library offers more than one million images in the arts, architecture, and humanities. The ARTstor collection is comprised of contributions from museums, photographers, libraries, scholars, photo archives, and artists.

Artstor is now available in its new home on JSTOR!

When you search for images on JSTOR, you can now find Artstor's 3.2+ million licensed images and more than 800 additional collections alongside JSTOR's books and journal articles.

We have also made it easy to organize and annotate the content you find on JSTOR, and export, present, or share it from there.

The Artstor website will be retired on August 1, 2024, but you can get started on Artstor on JSTOR now.

How to register for ARTstor

Access to ARTstor is restricted to individuals affiliated with a participating institution. The CCAD Packard Library provides free access to its faculty, staff, and students.

  •  Click on ARTstor (you must register on-campus)
  •  Enter the ARTstor Digital Library by clicking on the button on the upper right.
  •  In the login section on the right hand side of the screen, click on the "register" link.
  •  Enter the required basic registration information - an email address and a 7 character password.
  •  After clicking Submit, you'll receive a confirmation message by email.

To access ARTstor from off campus, go to ARTstor through the CCAD library’s web page or use the 120 day remote access grace period. The grace period is available as soon as you register for an ARTstor account. Each time you log on to your account from a campus computer, you will have 120 days during which you may access ARTstor from any computer, anywhere.
