Graduating Class of 2022
We arrived at CCAD's Packard Library as eggs on March 30, 2022, and hatched on April 13. We had many visits from students, staff, faculty and guests who gave us lots of love, care, and laughs. We also had over 1000 views on our Hatch Cam livestream. On April 19 we were all adopted by a loving farm, Bring the Farm to You®.

My name is Chickpea. I am a Lavender Orpington breed which is a British breed of chicken. Our original family was bred in the late nineteenth century by William Cook of Orpington, Kent, in south-east England. We were intended to be a dual-purpose breed, to be reared both for eggs and for meat, but soon became exclusively a show bird.

My Story
My name is Toast. I am talking loud. I am an Olive egger breed which is not a breed in our own right. We are a hybrid produced by crossing two different breeds, a cockerel from brown egg stock and an hen that lays blue eggs. We can be large fowl or bantams and be a surprising variety of shapes, sizes and colors. We are bred for the sole purpose of producing olive green eggs.
