Altered Books

Altered book by Pamela Paulstrud, Touchstone

Altered Books involve the transformation of an existing book into a new work. Options include physically changing the form of a book or hollowing it out. Another approach is to attach objects and materials to an existing book in a meaningful way.

Books Made from Recycled Materials

You can make a book about anything and you can make a book out of anything. If you think of a book in terms of its most fundamental essence--a container of pieces of information--the possibilities of what a book can look like and be made from become wide open.

If you're looking for free materials when campus reopens, check out the entrance to the Library where we often put out discarded magazines, and for our occasional Library book sales where you can buy discarded and donated books for $1!
