CCAD Library Research Tutorial

APA, MLA, and Chicago

You will use three different citation styles at CCAD depending upon the class you're taking. They style you use will be determined by your instructor's preference.

  • APA (American Psychological Association) style is used in psychology, sociology, and other social science fields.
  • MLA (Modern Language Association) style is used in English and literature classes.
  • Chicago (also called Chicago/Turabian) style is used in art history classes.

You don't need to know the ins and outs of each style right now, you just need to know they exist.

But when you do need them, we have guides that can help you use them.
